Skytran could use the power of crowdsourcing to help keep the insides of pods clean.

How it would work is that a history of the last 20 riders would be kept and as long as the pod wasn't rejected for being unclean those riders would receive a small credit on their account on a rolling basis. This would mean that there would be a small entrance fee, almost like a bottle deposit. The credit would be small enough that occasionally not receiving the credit due to no fault of the rider would not be a big deal. Habitual litters would find that their ride cost increased. The cleanliness deposit and return would serve to incentivize people to not ride in dirty cars but to send them off for cleaning, keeping for a clean system overall.
